STEP BY STEP GUIDE

Are you ready to take on the ultimate challenge and break the cycle of homelessness? The 100 MILE CHALLENGE is free to enter and easy to sign up.

Take on the physical challenge of your choice, either as an individual or as a team, and get ready to start your challenge on 1st September. You’ll have 40 days to complete your challenge and raise funds, finishing on World Homeless Day – 10th October. Every penny you raise will go towards providing homes, jobs, food and support to people in a situation of homelessness; as well as contributing to Social Bite’s longer term projects.

STEP ONE – CHOOSE YOUR CHALLENGE

Walk, run or cycle your 100 MILE CHALLENGE – or select another activity to suit you. If a distance challenge isn’t your thing, you could convert your miles to calories burned or number of reps per day. There are so many ways that you can choose to break the cycle of homelessness. Take a look at our guides and challenge library for inspiration, and choose the challenge that works best for you or your team.

STEP THREE – PLAN YOUR CHALLENGE

Once you’ve settled on your challenge, create a plan for how you intend to tackle your mileage. If you intend to do your 100 MILE CHALLENGE in one or two longer sessions, it’s important to make sure that you’re training appropriately and feel prepared. If you’re planning on doing a little bit every day, why not download our mileage tracker to help you keep track of how much you’ve completed over the course of your challenge. A good plan will help you to stay motivated and celebrate your milestones.

STEP FOUR – START FUNDRAISING

You don’t need to wait for your challenge to begin to start fundraising. Spread the word as early as possible to encourage friends and family to donate. Share your fundraising page regularly on social media with updates on your training or progress. Tell your friends and family why you have decided to fundraise for Social Bite and remember that every penny you raise will go towards providing homes, jobs, food and support to people who are experiencing homelessness. As you reach fundraising milestones, you’ll become eligible for fundraising rewards.
